Learning OutdoorsAn important part of Westall Secondary College is our Outdoor Education Centre at Balook. Our camp is also available for bookings by other schools and members of the public. This page gives information about the camp environment and how bookings can be made. The visit to Camp Balook gives a unique opportunity to experience activities not available at at school including:
Balook is 200 km south-east of the city of Melbourne in South Gippsland, midway between Traralgon and Yarram, in the Strzelecki Ranges. The area has many different animals and birds including lyre-birds, kookaburras, rosellas, echidnas, wombats, rabbits and wallabies. The campsite occupies one hectare and is surrounded by the temperate rainforest of the Tarra Bulga National Park in the town of Balook. |

Where is Camp Balook?Balook is 35 km from the Traralgon railway station and 210 km from the Melbourne GPO. Transport can be made by arrangement with La Trobe Valley Buses to and from the campsite and nearby venues.

How do I hire Camp Balook? |

Balook is is available for hire on a nightly basis. The minimum hire charge is $120 per night. The camp is accredited with the Victorian Camping Association.
