Victorian Youth Development Program

The Victorian Youth Development Program (VYDP) is a community based project, introduced to government secondary colleges across Victoria in 1997. A hands-on training initiative, it takes students out of the classroom and offers them a range of opportunities that promote, youth leadership, participation team building, confidence and awareness of community. The program is voluntary for both schools and students.
Additionally, all participants learn the core components of accredited first aid, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

The Westall Surf Life Saving Squad takes Westall Secondary College students out of the classroom and into a dynamic community of Rescue and Surf Life Savers. The program develops first aid, rescue, fitness and decision making skills in the students.
